Accessibility Statement

Last updated: July 14, 2026

My Commitment

I am committed to ensuring digital accessibility for people of all abilities. I strive to provide a website experience that is accessible, inclusive, and user-friendly for everyone, including individuals with disabilities.

As someone who writes about web design, development, and technology, I believe accessibility is not just a legal or technical requirement, it’s a fundamental aspect of good design.

Accessibility Standards

I aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA, as published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). These guidelines provide a framework for making web content more accessible to people with a wide range of disabilities, including:

  • Visual impairments (blindness, low vision, color blindness)
  • Hearing impairments
  • Motor impairments
  • Cognitive and learning disabilities

What I’m Doing

I am taking the following measures to improve and maintain accessibility on this Site:

  • Semantic HTML: Using proper heading structures, landmarks, and HTML elements to support assistive technologies
  • Keyboard navigation: Ensuring the Site can be navigated using a keyboard alone
  • Alt text: Providing descriptive alternative text for images
  • Color contrast: Striving for sufficient color contrast between text and background
  • Readable fonts: Using legible font sizes and styles
  • Link clarity: Writing descriptive link text that makes sense out of context
  • Form accessibility: Labeling form fields clearly and providing helpful error messages
  • Video content: Working toward providing captions or transcripts for video content where feasible
  • Responsive design: Ensuring the Site works well on various devices and screen sizes
  • Ongoing learning: Continuously educating myself on accessibility best practices and implementing improvements

Known Limitations

While I strive to make all content accessible, some areas of the Site may have limitations, including:

  • Third-party content: Some embedded content, tools, or widgets from third parties may not fully meet accessibility standards
  • Older content: Some older posts may not yet have been updated to meet current accessibility guidelines
  • PDF documents: If any PDF documents are provided, they may not be fully accessible; I am working to improve this
  • Video captions: Not all video content may have captions or transcripts at this time

I am actively working to address these limitations and improve accessibility across the Site.

Continuous Improvement

Accessibility is an ongoing effort. I regularly review and update my Site to improve accessibility and ensure compliance with evolving standards and best practices.

This statement will be updated as I make improvements or as standards change.
